Prasat Tor

Prasat Tor

Constructed : N/A
Religion : N/A
Style : N/A
King : N/A
Location : In north east of Eastern Baray, on the road of Phnom Bok.

Comment : The tourist in a hurry will not venture on this road which goes from the village of Pradak, close to Banteay Samre, which crosses part of Eastern Baray and which leads to Phnom Bok and it is well damage: one crosses there part of what is still for a few years deep Kampuchea with all the charm of the small country lanes which often do not see passing the tourists.

The smiles are still sincere there; the houses are equipped with the minimum and their accesses very animated. The small temple of ¨Prasat To, composed of three small towers of the same style than Pre Rup, is very close to the Northeast end of the baray, and is worth well a small halt for its charm and its calms. One will take again quickly the road of Phnom Bok.

Prasat Suor Prat

Prasat Suor Prat - Prasat Neang 12

Constructed : Early 13 th century
Religion : Mahayana Buddhism
Style : Post-Bayon
King : Jayavarman VII ★ 1181 - 1218 ★
Location : Angkor Thom, opposite the Terrace of the elephants.

Comments : These twelve towers are hardly of interest, but remain a enigma as for their use. Prasat Suor Prat, the temple of the tightrope walker can let suppose a relation with the spectacles of the Terrace of the elephants opposite which these turns are symmetrically laid out. It is also supposed that they could be used as particular cabins but the report of Zhou Ta Guan describes them as kinds of prisons from where emanated the divine judgements. Nothing is less sure. Their location in the east of the Royal plain and each side of the alley which lead to Victory Gate make beautiful decorative towers.

Prasat Prei

Prasat Prei

Constructed : Late 12th century
Religion : Mahayana Buddhism
Style : Bayon
King : Jayavarman VII ★ 1181 - 1218 ★
Location : On the large circuit on the left between Preah Khan and Neak Pean,
with a few tens of meters of the road.

Comment : Perched on a small hillock, Prasat Prei or the temple of the forest, dates from the same period as its neighbor Banteay Prei. It is difficult to evaluate the relations which necessarily exist between these two small temples, very with calms and slightly with the shelter of the glances. The central part of the temple which was restored has beautiful pace, but there remains unfortunately only that. A peaceful place to visit which does not move away us too much from the large circuit.

Comment : Five halls of the brick making line up into north and south direction, the small-scale ruins. You say that "Kravan" the cardamom is meant. It was restored by the French Far Eastern institute, but top of the tower is not reconstructed in accordance with the policy, of not reconstructing the unclear part.

This temple is dedicated to the god Vishnu, this temple was built in 921 and restored there're about forty year. Completely built in bricks of clay, it is famous by its numerous representations of the god Vishnu.
